Background Information

Oral and Maxillofacial surgery is a specialty of Dentistry, however the specialty forms the bridge between medicine and dentistry.  To become an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon it requires additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school.  Dr. Alibhai has completed medical school in addition to a hospital based residency training program in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery.   As Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Alibhai manages a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth, and facial regions. The team at Avalon Orofacial Surgery practice a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. Our office can also diagnose and treat facial injuries and fractures.

Our staff is trained in assisting with Intravenous (IV) sedation and outpatient anesthesia in our modern clinical facility. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery in our dedicated recovery room.

Surgical Staff

The surgical staff at Avalon Orofacial Surgery are experienced, surgical assistants, who assist with the surgical procedure.  We also have trained registered nurses (RN) to assist in surgery and in the administration of the anesthesia.  All administrative staff are informed personnel, that are caring and happy and willing to assist you with your health and insurance policies.
